SAGU Offers College Credit at North Texas Church Ministries Conference
SAGU’s School of Distance Education is offering three courses at the North Texas District's Innovate All Church Ministries Conference. Participants will have the option to earn college credit through these three classes at half-tuition. The conference is on Saturday, March 6, at SAGU.
The conference includes a plethora of speakers and sessions. The theme for the 2010 conference is Innovate. “We stand poised on the edge of the coming of God's Kingdom,” the North Texas website states. “Our mission is the same as it has always been, but today we face new challenges, new obstacles, and new hardships. We have the light of Jesus as we always have, but we have the opportunity to find new and innovative ways to shine that light into a world that desperately needs it.”
“SAGU is providing an added benefit to those attending by offering accredited courses that will serve to personally enrich and prepare them for ministerial credentials with the Assemblies of God,” commented Joseph Hartman, Assistant Dean of Distance Education.
SAGU faculty members are teaching three classes with an option for undergraduate credit. These classes are Biblical Prayer as Ministry with Dr. Adonna Otwell, Pentecostal Doctrine with Dr. Garland Owensby, and Survey of the Old Testament with Rev. Clancy Hayes. These courses provide an excellent opportunity to begin working towards ministerial credentials as well as a college degree.
According to Hartman, “With the quality of our faculty, students can expect a level of scholarship that will both challenge them and leave them desiring to pursue further study.”
