SAGU Has Record Breaking Spring Campus Days
SAGU hosted over 770 guests during Spring 2010 Campus Days, topping the previous record of 750 set just last year. Campus Days allows prospective students to experience the SAGU campus first-hand and rub shoulders with potential classmates.
Various activities are held during Campus Days to introduce guests to different aspects of SAGU. These activities include chapel, an academic fair, Late Night Worship, a block party, jazz concert by the SAGU Jazz Band, athletic competitions, the opportunity to attend actual classes, and Southwestern Live, a comedic presentation of campus life. The Spring 2010 event also featured a concert with Contemporary Christian recording artist Shane & Shane.
The event helped a number of students in the process of making their college decision. According to Elizabeth Whittaker, “I feel called to SAGU and that's my goal. I just want to do what God has called me to do and go where he has called me to go.”
“This spring’s Campus Days is a continuation of the momentum we are seeing on campus,” remarked Vice President for Enrollment, Eddie Davis. “We have experienced three straight semesters of record enrollment and new applications for the fall are up 30%. Truly something exciting is happening on the SAGU campus.”
