5 Ralph Riggs Scholarship Recipients to Attend SAGU

Five of the ten 2010 Ralph Riggs Scholarship recipients plan to attend SAGU. The scholarships are part of the Ralph Riggs Scholarship program, funded by AGTrust and administered by the Assemblies of God Alliance for Higher Education.

The Ralph Riggs Scholarship is named for former Assemblies of God General Superintendent Ralph M. Riggs, an early advocate for higher education within the fellowship. According to current General Superintendent George O. Wood, “The Riggs Scholarship continues [Riggs’] legacy by providing generous financial assistance to select high school graduates who meet the highest qualifications of excellence in their personal life, community and church service, scholarship, and commitment to Christ.”

Scholarships are awarded based on outstanding academic merit, exemplary community and church service, Christian life and personal references. Below are the SAGU Riggs Scholarship recipients:

  • Daniel Borden – Waxahachie, Texas
  • Heidi Borden – Waxahachie, Texas
  • Paloma Douglas – Lamar, Colorado
  • Dylan Johnston – Temple, Texas
  • Christopher Wilson – Stigler, Oklahoma
