800 Participate in Eurasia Experience at SAGU

Approximately 800 people participated in the Eurasia Experience held at SAGU on March 31, 2010. Participants passed through “customs” into a Eurasian marketplace, filled with cultural sights, scents, and sounds.

As participants left the marketplace, they donned Eurasian scarves and hats. They heard multiple monologues of testimonies from various people groups of Eurasia.

Straddling two continents, the Eurasia region includes the people groups and countries of the former Soviet Union, the Indian subcontinent and its neighboring islands, and the Middle East, North Africa, and the Arabian Peninsula. Within that region are more than 4,000 people groups in need of a witness. It is the least-reached region of the world.

One student commented, “The Eurasia Experience was quite a shock to my system honestly. Most people, including me, have an idea of what’s going on in unreached countries but the Eurasia Experience just brings it to reality so you can’t ignore it. This experience opened my eyes to the truth of what really happens in this region and what people deal with in their native culture on a daily basis.”

“It was really challenging to me,” said another student. “Although I’ve always considered that part of the world dark and largely unreached, it burdened my heart to be thrust into that reality with the presentation.”
