209 Students Participate in SAGU's Third-Annual Credentialing Day

SAGU held its third annual Credentialing Day Thursday, October 21. Credentialing Day offers students an opportunity to meet with district representatives regarding ministerial credentials with the Assemblies of God. Two hundred and nine students participated in this year’s event.

Districts represented included Arizona, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, North Texas, Rocky Mountain, South Texas and West Texas. The 209 participants included students from these districts as well as GLAD District, Oklahoma, Washington, Alabama, Minnesota, Alaska, Maryland, Hawaii, Wisconsin, Oregon, Georgia, Kansas, Illinois, England and Austria.

“What a thrill it was to see students at Southwestern from both the College of Bible and Church Ministries and the College of Arts and Professions crowding around tables to visit with key leaders from their various districts about getting ministerial credentials,” commented Dr. LeRoy Bartel, Dean of the College of Bible & Church Ministries.

Students who participate in Credentialing Day receive valuable information regarding credentialing. Sessions are designed to allow students to connect with district leaders and give them an opportunity to find out more about how to pursue ministerial credentials. Students can begin the application process and, in some cases, even take care of credentialing interviews. Also, SAGU is a national testing center for A/G credentialing.

According to Dr. Bartel, “Credentialing Day at SAGU this year was a huge success. This event provides an invaluable opportunity for our students to connect and build relationships with the very people who can help them as they move toward finding their place in ‘the harvest’ and ministry in the Church. It’s a wonderful sight to behold! Thanks to the district leaders who take time out of very busy schedules to be a part of it!”
