Lady Lions have 5 matches in three days

Live Video and Live Stats available for fans

WAXAHACHIE, Texas  --  Like a salmon swimming upstream, the women’s volleyball team at Southwestern Assemblies of God University is up against some stiff competition to begin the 2012 season this week.

Playing five matches in less than three days, the Lady Lions will have their hands full.

Head Coach Hansford “Hank” Moore and his 13-member squad travel to Oklahoma City on Thursday. They will face Mid-America Christian University at 7:00pm in a best of five match.

The Lady Lions annually use an active, jammed early schedule to build comaraderie, solidify the line-up and to prepare for their conference season.

MACU is coming off of a 7-27 season. Coach Moore, however, expects a good test from the always tough Lady Evangels.

They are entered in the Oklahoma City University Volleyball Classic on Friday and Saturday. Six teams from four states will each play four matches at the Abe Lemons Arena, which is located inside the Freede Center in midtown. (Directions are posted below)
