Senior Led Lady Lions to Unbeaten Week
WACO, Texas -- For the second time in this young season, Southwestern senior Brittani Toole (Whitehouse, Tx / Whitehouse HS) has been named the Red River Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week.
The Middle Hitter average 4.17 kills per individual game as she totaled 25 spikes for points and the Lady Lions went 6-0 against Dallas Christian College and Bacone College. In 41 attempted kills, she made only two errors, which was a sizzling .561 hitting percentage.
For comparison sake, the current national leader in hitting percentage, Julianne O'Donnell, of Walsh University, is converting .441 of her kill attempts into points.
Toole, who led the Red River in kills per game (4.0) and hitting percentage (.352) a year ago, is currently #31 in the NAIA in kills per game at 3.9. Her present hitting pct. of .251 is second in the RRAC.

She is known for possessing a great balance of power when making kills, as well as an uncommon skill at the deftly placed tip, dink and teardrop shot. The 5-foot-11 player is a native of the Tyler, Texas southern suburb of Whitehouse.

Also nominated for the weekly honors in the conference were Taylor Calverley (Mansfield, Tx / Grace Prep) and Jordan Briggs (Maypearl, Tx / Maypearl HS) for Setter and Libero of the Week, respectively.
Calverley average 11.0 assists per game last week, which was more than anyone else in the RRAC. She added three blocks and two serving aces. Briggs made 3.0 digs per game, burned opponents for seven aces and had a service accuracy percentage of .971.
