SAGU to take on Texas Wesleyan in Fort Worth

coach-grant-natl-anthemWAXAHACHIE, Texas  --  Today's softball doubleheader between Southwestern Assemblies of God University and Texas Wesleyan University will begin with a first game, first pitch at 1:30pm. The twinbill was originally scheduled to begin at 5:00pm.

The forecast calls for a sunny sky and 39 degrees at the start. The afternoon will warm up slightly to 45, with mild southeasterly winds.

The games will take place at Sycamore Park in Fort Worth, as planned. It is located less than a mile from the TWU campus, just east of Highway 287, off the Rosedale Avenue East exit. Enter at the park's entry. The third field on the left is where the Lady Rams and Lady Lions will play.

The diamond is where TWU has called 'home' since 1989. The dimensions are 210-feet down the leftfield line, 225 to center and 205 to right.

It will be the home opener for Wesleyan, who sport a 4-5 record. It is also their first game in league play.

SAGU is 5-13 overall and 0-4 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.  Ten of the Lady Lions games have been played on the road and today starts a 12-game road trip.

The Lady Lions will be in Shawnee, Oklahoma on Friday and Saturday. They will faceoff with No. 19 St. Gregory's University (11-3 / 1-1 in SAC).

Friday's doubleheader begins at 1:00pm. A noon start on Saturday will complete the four-game series.
