WAXAHACHIE, Texas  --  Southwestern Assemblies of God University plays host to a college basketball doubleheader on Thursday when John Brown University (Ark) visits the Sheaffer Center.

It begins with a 6:00pm (CST) women’s game between SAGU (8-8 overall, 2-4 in SAC) and the Golden Eagles (11-3 / 3-2 in SAC).

JBU is ranked No. 16 in the NAIA. Two of their three losses were on the road to ranked teams.

At approximately 8:00pm the men’s teams meet. JBU (12-3 / 2-3 in SAC) and Lions (13-1 / 6-0) could prove to be a highly contested, highly entertaining duel.

The Golden Eagles were recently ranked as high as No. 7 following a 10-0 start. SAGU began the year at No. 5 in the preseason poll before rising to No. 2 a week ago.

The SAGU Sports Live broadcast begins with a pre-game show at 5:45pm with host Rob Price and color analyst Tim Roberts. The men’s pre-game starts at 7:45pm.
