Video captures Lions championship season

Highlights of big plays and big dunks in big games

WAXAHACHIE, Texas  --  The recently produced video that chronicles the highlights of the Southwestern Assemblies of God University men’s basketball season, in which they advanced to the national championship game, can now be viewed on-line at your convenience.

It includes special moments during the team’s first-ever Red River Athletic Conference championship, big plays in big games all the way to the nationally televised semi-final (ESPN) and finals (CBS) of the NAIA tournament in Kansas City, Missouri.

Watch Head Coach Donnie Bostwick describe the theme that propelled the Lions to a 33-5 record and a No. 2 ranking at the end of the season.

The team bus received an escort by Ellis County sheriffs as they returned home from KC, which is also captured on film.

View their bus exit and post-trip comments by Coach Bostwick as well as Duce Ward presenting the Runner-Up trophy to President Kermit Bridges.

Visit the SAGU website and, from the home page, click on the Watch SAGUtv button.

A three-tiered menu will appear, featuring an array of high definition choices divided into nine selections;

Row One: Commercials, Seminars and Chapel Services
Row Two: News (watch clips of “SAGU in 60” seconds), Sports and Student Films
Row Three: Campus Life, The Vault and Live Streaming (events).

Click on Sports and the first item to appear will be a large freeze frame of *Dominique Rambo exiting the bus. Click the arrow to view the clip that is under four minutes (3:44) in length.

One more thing. Pump up the volume! Popcorn is optional.

The “Journey to Greatness” is a collection of scenes put together by Tim Roberts. He is part of the SAGU Sports Live team that is under the direction of John Cookman.
