CBN features SAGU Alumna Hannah SnowWaxahachie, Texas — July 15, 2013 — Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) alumna Hannah Snow's testimony will air on ABC Family Channel on the 700 Club Interactive show at 9:30 a.m. EST on July 17, 2013.

At one year old, Snow was diagnosed with severe sensory integration disorder (SID) after developing symptoms such as loss of speech, loss of eye contact, overall unresponsiveness, and other abnormal behaviors. SID is a neurological disorder and falls in the autism spectrum.

Snow began participating in an experimental occupational therapy program by Dr. Temple Grandin and received two years of occupational and speech therapy in Georgia. She recalls, “I vividly remember the frustration I experienced during sessions. I truly believed I was expressing my thoughts, but I wasn’t even close to speaking English.” By age three, Snow was experiencing virtually no symptoms of SID.

Snow taught in a kindergarten classroom at Shackelford Elementary School in Waxahachie during her last semester of college. She says, “My background knowledge and personal experience make it easier to identify students who are struggling and know how to approach them. I can relate to what they are feeling.”

She continues, “I desire to reach out to these students and believe that my experiences will help the dynamic of my own classroom.”

Snow is from Panhandle, Texas. She was home-schooled through A Beka Academy and attended Amarillo College before enrolling at SAGU in Fall 2010 as an elementary education major.

While at SAGU, Snow served as the student president of Kappa Delta Pi (KDP), a national education organization. She served as president Spring 2012 through Fall 2012.
