General Math and Math Education programs launch at SAGU
Mathematics professor Tom Ferguson explains, "As a department, we have been planning for these math programs even before I arrived seven years ago." He added, "We are continuing to move forward to open new doors for our student's careers."
According to the Wall Street Journal, mathematicians have the best jobs of 2014 with a midlevel income of $101,360 and estimated growth of 23% in the next eight years. The study was based on environment, income, outlook and stress factors.
SAGU continues to make great strides to equip student's with more diverse programs. The Math Education degree, which is 120 hours, will prepare students to teach middle and secondary mathematics. The General Mathematics degree, which is also 120 hours, is designed to prepare students to pursue graduate work in mathematics.
