Waxahachie, Texas- July 15, 2014- The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has named its 2013-2014 Scholar-Teams and six Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) sports have made the list. Men's and women's soccer, volleyball, softball, men's cross country and women's basketball made the list by earning a team minimum of a 3.0 grade-point average. The team grade-point average includes all eligible varsity student-athletes.

The SAGU volleyball team earned the highest grade-point average of 3.61, followed by men’s cross country at 3.16, women’s soccer earned a 3.1, men’s soccer earned a 3.09, and women’s basketball and softball earned a 3.07.

1,290 athletic programs have been named to the 2013-2014 NAIA Scholar-Teams. The Scholar-Team of the Year was awarded to the Ashford’s (Iowa) men’s golf squad, who finished the academic year with a NAIA best combined 3.86 grade-point average.
