SAGU sports update: February 6, 2014
Waxahachie, Texas — February 6, 2014 — No. 4 ranked Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) defeated Southwestern Christian University, 78-56, in men’s basketball on Saturday, February 1, at the Sheaffer Center auditorium. They are now 19-2 in all games and 11-1 in the Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC).
During the game, the 2013 NAIA national runner-ups received their championship rings, and new banners were raised in the Sheaffer Center gymnasium.

SAGU women's basketball team also defeated Southwestern Christian University, 68-66, on February 1. They leveled their record at 11-11 and improved their SAC mark to 5-7.
SAGU men's and women's basketball teams will travel to Chickasha, Oklahoma, to meet the University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma. A preview of the game will be posted on Thursday. The game will be available on live-stream video as well as a LiveStats webcast.
The next home game is Saturday, February 8, against Texas Wesleyan University. The games will be broadcasted live in HD on SAGU Sports Live.
SAGU Baseball defeated Hillsdale College (Ok) 3-2 and 11-0 on Friday, January 31, at the Waxahachie Sports Complex (WSC), and completed the four game series with 17-0 and 17-4 victories at the SAGU campus ballpark on Saturday, February 1.
This was the team's best start in a decade, improving this season's record to 4-0. They will host Central Christian College (KS) at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 6 at the WSC.
SAGU softball begins their season with a double header against Texas College, Feb. 7 and 8, at the Waxahachie Sports Complex at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
