lions-head-soloWAXAHACHIE, Texas  --  A busy day of sports action was completed this evening on the campus of Southwestern Assemblies of God University.

A full report with stats and action photos from the four home games will be posted later tonight.

SAGU swept two games from Hillsdale College by scores of 17-0 and 17-4 to take the weekend series, 4-0.

In women's basketball action the Lady Lions held off a spirited rally by Southwestern Christian University, 68-66. SAGU had a 27-point lead with 14 minutes remaining. Team Lioness evened their season record at 11-11.

No. 4 ranked SAGU led from start to finish in a 78-56 triumph SCU. The leading three-point shooting team in the Sooner Athletic Conference, the visiting Eagles, didn't make their first triple until late in the game and finished 3-of-25. The Lions are now 19-2.

This Week:

Baseball - The Lions host Central Christian College (Ks) in a Thursday doubleheader. The games will be played at the Waxahachie Sports Complex starting at 4:00pm.

Basketball - SAGU travels to Chickasha, Ok to play the University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma; women at 6:00pm, men at 8:00pm.

Both the Lady Lions and Lions return home next Saturday, February 8, for a big twinbill against Texas Wesleyan University at 3pm and 5pm.
