Double sports broadcast set for Saturday
Tune in for HD Video of Volleyball, Audio for Football
WAXAHACHIE, Texas -- This Saturday will mark the first-ever broadcast of two separate athletic events involving teams from Southwestern Assemblies of God University.
The only institution in the NAIA to air games in legitimate High Definition the past three years, the SAGU Sports Network expanded to include social media as well as audio broadcasts this fall.
On Saturday, October 5, SAGU Sports Live, the HD video branch of SSN, will cover a home college volleyball match at 11:00am (CST) and then provide an audio broadcast of a road football game at 2:00pm.
The VBall match should be a great one to tune in for as SAGU, 10-8 overall, plays host to No. 21 ranked Wayland Baptist University. The No. 21 ranked Lady Pioneers are 16-3.
Rob Price will be the host while former SAGU player Devan Guynes supplies the color.
The volleyball match is a best-of-five event, and the only home sports event of the week.
SAGU and WBU have not played each other since 2008. The series is tied at 3-3.
Fans can then catch the audio version of SSN when Mark “Link” Warde, SAGU’s Sports Information Director, brings the play-by-play of the SAGU (1-2) vs. Oklahoma Baptist University (0-4) football game.
Three of the Bison's four losses have been by less than 10 points.
It will be played at Bison Field in the Eddie Hurt Athletic Center in Shawnee, Ok. which is 39 miles east of OKC. It is located on the OBU campus. For fans traveling to the game, it is a 229-mile trek from Waxahachie to Shawnee.
The pre-game show is live at 1:50pm. Also scheduled is a post-game interview with Head Coach and Athletic Director Jesse Godding.
