Waxahachie, Texas - September 5, 2013 - Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) newly added cross-country teams continue to prepare for their first meet of the season, the Bill Libby Invitational, in Abilene, Texas, on Sept. 7.

Head coach Jason Covarrubias recruited 16 runners, eight men and eight women, to compete in five meets this fall, two in September and three in October.

Soccer

SAGU men's soccer beat Southwestern College, 1-0, and Sterling college, 3-1, in their double-header on August 29 and 30. Women's soccer defeated Johnson and Wales University, 2-1, on September 4. Both men and women travel to Louisiana College Saturday, September 7. 

Lions soccer host consecutive home games on Sept. 9 and 10 against Dallas Christian College and Huston Tillotson University. Women play at 3 p.m. and men at  5 p.m. The match will broadcast on SAGU Sports Live.

Volleyball

SAGU volleyball will play in the annual Austin College Classic on September 6-7 in Sherman, Texas. They will compete against four teams: Southwestern University, University of Dallas, Austin College and Sul Ross State University

They make their home debut on Tuesday, September 17, against Mid-America Christian University. The match will broadcast on SAGU Sports Live.
