SAGU sports update: February 20, 2013
Waxahachie, Texas — February 20, 2013 — Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) men's basketball team remains no. 1 in the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) and are no. 7 in the National Athletic Intercollegiate Association (NAIA). It's their first time to ever break the Top 10.
On Sat., Feb. 16, the Lions defeated Paul Quinn College, 105-83. Their next home game will be on Thursday, Feb. 21 at 7:30 p.m. in the SAGU Sheaffer Center against Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU).
SAGU women's basketball (9-18) beat Northwood University, 74-47, on Monday, Feb. 19. They will face the top three RRAC teams this coming week. They will play Our Lady of the Lake University (26-2) on Feb. 21 at 5:30 p.m., Wiley College (23-3) at 2 p.m. on Feb. 23, then traveling on Feb. 24 to play LSU-Shreveport(21-4) at 5:30 p.m.
The Lions baseball team are 9-9 this season. Their next games will be in Hawkins, Texas against Jarvis Christian College.
The Lady Lions softball team played their first game of the season on Friday, Feb. 8. They are currently 5-4 this season after winning a double header against the University of Dallas on Feb. 19. Their next home games will be against Langston University on Feb. 22-23.
