WAXAHACHIE, Texas  --  Southwestern Assemblies of God University split four games today in baseball and basketball.

The signature moment came at the end of the men's basketball game. After Texas Wesleyan University tied the game with a late three-point basket, the Lions won it on a Dominique Rambo trifecta with four seconds remaining.

SAGU led throughout the game before a late Rams rally. The 90-87 victory, the team's 11th straight, improved the Lions record to 20-3 overall. The Purple Pride is 14-2 in the Red River Athletic Conference.

A detailed review of the classic will be posted later, including the box score.

Earlier in the afternoon, the Lady Lions dropped a 77-65 decision to Texas Wesleyan. The Lady Ewes grabbed a quick 11-2 lead and kept SAGU at bay down the stretch.

Southwestern will play host to the University of the Southwest on Monday night. The Lady Lions game will begin at 5:30pm, the Lions at 7:30pm (CST). Both games will be broadcast in HD by SAGU Sports Live.

In baseball action, a young SAGU team were defeated by no. 5 ranked Rogers State University, 9-2, at the Waxahachie Sports Complex. Later, the Lions blanked Arlington Baptist College, 9-0.

The Lions are 4-4 heading into a home doubleheader on Tuesday against Dallas Christian College.
