SAGU sports update: January 29, 2013
Waxahachie, Texas — January 29, 2013 — After a demanding week of games, Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) men's basketball defeated Bacone College Saturday night 72-62, and Langston University 75-71, as they remain first in the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC). The no. 14-ranked Lions won their tenth game in a row and increased their record to 12-2, 19-3 overall. Their next home game is Saturday, February 2, at 4 p.m. against Texas Wesleyan University.
Lady Lions basketball lost, 52-51, against Langston University on Monday, Jan. 28. The Lions are now 7-15 overall and 4-11 in the RRAC. They are tied for eighth place with Jarvis Christian College. The Lady Lions' next game is Saturday at 2 p.m. against Texas Wesleyan University in SAGU's Sheaffer Center.
SAGU baseball began the season on a positive note after winning a three-out-of-four game series against Hillsdale Baptist College. SAGU pulled a 7-5 and 8-5 win on Saturday's doubleheader after a win and a loss the day before.
The Lions' scheduled doubleheader for today has been cancelled due to bad weather.
