Basketball coverage begins Jan. 5

Nine home dates to be broadcast in HD

WAXAHACHIE, Texas  --  The best livestream in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) resumes 

when SAGU Sports Live begins their basketball coverage on Saturday, January 5.

Houston's University of St. Thomas provides the competition when Southwestern Assemblies of God University starts the second half of the 2012-13 regular season a week from Saturday.

The Lady Lions game in the Sheaffer Center is slated for a 2:00pm (CST) jump ball. The Lions contest will commence at 4:00pm.

SAGU is the lone school in the NAIA to broadcast athletics in genuine High Definition, all at no cost to viewers. The program comes from the school's Media Services department and is aired on SAGU TV.

John Cookman is the producer. His energy and vision continue to lead this high-tech educational branch. Rob Price is the host of the broadcasts and serves as the play-by-play announcer.

Often seen as the personality and expression of the production is SAGU senior student Tim Roberts. He offers color commentary during games and plays a lead role on-line.

Fans can follow the latest news and highlight clips on their Facebook page; SAGU Sports Live. Click on their Merry Christmas video message, which includes the upcoming itinerary of January basketball games.

SAGU Sports Live will air eight doubleheaders as well as a pair of single games for the SAGU Lions and Lady Lions. Each will be preceeded with a pre-game show approximately 10-15 minutes before each game tips off.

The SAGU Sports Network has covered football, volleyball and both men's and women's soccer. This is their third full season of existence, though they did air select games four years ago as part of their pilot beginnings.
