SAGU visits Texas Wesleyan tonight

FORT WORTH, Texas -- The Southwestern Assemblies of God University women's and men's basketball teams travel less than an hour to face Texas Wesleyan University in a pair of Red River Athletic Conference league games.

The Lady Lions are 4-9 overall and 1-6 in the RRAC. The Lady Rams, who have won the last three in the series, are 9-2 and 5-1.
The Lions, ranked no. 28 in the NAIA, own a 10-3 mark in all games, while the Rams are 9-3 and 4-2.
SAGU has enjoyed some success in recent against the Lady Rams, who have a 14-10 ledger versus Team Lioness.
The series between the men is hasn't been as close, though it has seen a pair of huge upset wins by SAGU. Wesleyan possesses a 23-2 mastery over the Lions, including 14 in a row.
Team Purple has yet to win a regular season game against the Rams, but have twice stunned them during the RRAC tournament. In 2006 the Lions topped TWU in the tourney, which turned out to spur them to go on to win the NAIA national championship.

It is the final game in the 2012 calendar season for SAGU. Both teams will break for nearly three weeks. Their next contest will be on Saturday, January 5, when the University of St. Thomas visits the Sheaffer Center.
