Waxahachie, Tx- July, 2, 2014- Five members and one coach from the Southwestern Assemblies of God (SAGU) football team will be heading to Boston to serve The Link Church.  This is the second year that players have partnered with The Link Church to hold football camps for kids in the neighborhood.

The Link Church Pastor, and SAGU graduate, Caleb McNaughton says the trip is a positive for both community and church, “This is an automatic win for us as a church, for two reasons, we know that we have skilled athletes coming to work with the kids as well knowing that the players who are coming are not just focused on developing their skills but are also a solid representation of Christ.”

More than 150 kids are expected for this year’s camp and many of the kids are repeats from last year.  “The kids that participated have not forgotten that week! Every time we see them in the neighborhood they ask if the players are coming back this year,” says McNaughton.

Senior Peter Akorikin will be making the trip for the first time and is excited for the opportunity, “I can’t wait to interact with the kids and teach them about football and life.  I hope to make an impact.”

The players will be in Boston July 5-12, 2014. After the camps the players will have time to explore the city.
