PLAINVIEW, Texas  --  James Gosh (Waxahachie, Tx / Waxahachie HS) booted four field goals to rally Southwestern Assemblies of God University past winless Wayland Baptist University, 26-21, at Bulldog Stadium.

The Lions won their second consecutive game to improved their overall record to 4-4. They are 2-1 in the Central States Football League.

Wayland, who jumped to a 14-3 lead after one quarter, dropped to 0-8 and 0-4. SAGU led at the half, 20-14.

The host Pioneers took advantage of the Lions offensive struggles to regain the lead early in the fourth quarter, 21-20, on a short run by Kendall Roberson. His 82-yard run gave his team an eleven point lead in the first.

Senior quarterback Reid Golson (Grandview, Tx / Grandview, Howard Payne) marched SAGU downfield before the drive stalled. Gish connected for a 44-yard kick to give the Lions the lead, 23-21, with 8:24 to play.    marched toSAG

Gish tacked on another three-pointer from 43-yards out to finish the scoring with 2:03 to play.

Wayland moved inside the Lions 25 on their last possession before Dylan Snyder (Ennis, Tx / Ennis HS) intercepted an Anthony Campuzano pass to save the day.

SAGU travels to Tyler, Texas next Saturday to face Texas College (1-6) at 2:00pm. The Steers play at Houston Baptist University later tonight.
