SHERMAN, Texas  --  The second half of the college football season begins on Saturday for Southwestern Assemblies of God University.

The Lions travel 95 miles north to Sherman, which is less than ten miles from the Oklahoma border. There, they will wrangle with the Austin College Kangaroos.

It will be the eighth consecutive season the teams have met, with Austin College owning a 5-2 lead in the series. SAGU is 1-3 at home and 1-2 in Sherman.

The Lions are coming off of a tough 41-17 defeat at the hands of Langston University, while the ‘Roos had a similar setback in a 45-12 loss at Texas Lutheran University (4-0).

SAGU enters the game with a 2-3 overall record with hopes of leveling their ledger. Two years ago, in their last trip to Sherman, they thumped AC with a 35-13 verdict.

The ‘Roos, members of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, are 1-4. They are Division 3 members of the NCAA.

Kickoff is set for 1:00pm (CST) at the Jerry E. Apple Stadium (cap. 2,500), whose surface is natural grass.

The SAGU Sports Network will be bringing the action to Lions fans with an Audio broadcast on-line, starting with the pre-game show at 12:50pm.

Sports Information Director, Mark “Link” Warde, will supply the play-by-play accounts of the game. Also featured will be the official game statistics throughout the game.
