Rogers named Cheer Coach
Waxahachie, TX – August 8, 2011 – Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) named Alicia Rogers Cheer Coach last month.
“This position is exactly what God has called me to do: guiding college students in the ways of God as they seek Him for a plan for their future. I have the opportunity to be a mentor in their [cheerleaders] lives. My hope is to lead by example with a heart open to God and by loving others,” Rogers said. "I am competitive by nature. My goal is for the cheer team to capture that same competitive spirit and express it in their cheerleading abilities.”
Rogers and her husband Nick are dorm pastors for SAGU’s Bridges Hall. They have held youth ministry positions at First Assembly of God in Carlsbad, NM; Harvest Time Assembly of God in Sherman, TX; and were volunteer pastors at Life Fellowship in Allen, TX.
Rogers is from Anadarko, OK. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from SAGU. She and Nick have two children: Nash (6) and Anna (3).
