Waxahachie, Texas- August 4, 20140- The Southwestern Assemblies of God University’s (SAGU) ladies soccer team will visit San Francisco for a mission’s trip the first week of August. The team will be partnering with City Impact, an organization that exists to intervene on behalf of those in the inner city of San Francisco.

19 players and three coaches arrived in San Francisco on Monday, August 4. The team will spend three full days working with City Impact. While working with City Impact they will help further the organizations vision of providing relief for those in urgent need. Rehabilitation for those searching for a way out, and development to ensure the cycle of poverty and despair are not repeated.

Assistant coach Kaylyn Settle will be making the trip and is excited to fill the need for City Impact, “We aren’t sure exactly what we will be doing each day for our ministry opportunities. We are excited to help however they need us to.”

This is the first year the ladies soccer team is going to the Golden State. Years prior a mission’s trip has been made to South Texas. All returning sophomores, juniors, and seniors will be making the trip. On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday the team will make trips to local landmarks like the Golden Gate Bridge, Ghirardelli Square and the Santa Cruz Mountains.
