SAGU faces Dallas Christian College

Games played at 2:00pm at the WSC

WAXAHACHIE, Texas  --  The season-opening homestand continues today for the baseball team from Southwestern Assemblies of God University.

The Lions, 4-4 so far this season, will take on Dallas Christian College in a 2:00pm doubleheader.

The pair of seven-inning games will be played at the Waxahachie Sports Complex on Broadhead Road, just north of highway 287.

Head Coach Jon Shockley, who hasn't revealed which pitchers will get the starting nod for the Lions, hopes to build on the team's most recent outing, a 9-0 rout of Arlington Baptist College.

Fans and the general public are welcome to attend the twinbill, which is free for fans.

The WSC has plenty of covered bleacher seating, restrooms and concessions. The complex is located adjacent to the Show Biz Theatre and the Whataburger across town.

The young Lions have a deep pitching staff and a batting attack that is looking for consistency.

This weekend wraps up 13 consecutive home games for the team. Kansas Wesleyan University will play a three-game series against SAGU on Friday and Saturday.
