Lions roar and rally to win, 5-4
WAXAHACHIE, Texas -- News flash!! This just in!
Southwestern Assemblies of God University earned a doubleheader split with Howard Payne University on Tuesday night at the Waxahachie Sports Complex. The Yellow Jackets (5-8) are members of the NCAA's Division III.
A full report will be posted tonight about the twinbill in which SAGU lost the opener by a 5-0 count, then rallied from a 4-1 deficit to beat the Yellow Jackets, 5-4, in eight innings.
In the process, the Lions made a number of outstanding defensive plays. Read about the comeback and the "web gems" later tonight.
SAGU and HPU will meet again for two on March 20 at 2:00pm. The doubleheader is scheduled to be played in Brownwood, Texas.
The win gives SAGU a 10-12 record. They play in Marshall, Texas this weekend during a three-game set with Wiley College.
