WCC Update: December 6, 2012
Waxahachie, Texas — December 6, 2012 — Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) broke ground on the World Communication Center (WCC) on Friday, April 27, 2012. Since then, 3i Construction has relocated major utility feeds, finalized design and engineering for the footings, floor and structural steel, and completed foundation work. All storm drain and sanitary sewer lines across campus to the Sycamore Street/ Highland Street intersection.
The 52-foot block wall that surrounds the performing arts auditorium is nearly complete, along with steel framing on the west side of the building. The final section of concrete in the auditorium is being poured this week. 3i will pour concrete on the second floor starting next week. Steel installation will begin on the east side of the building the week of Christmas.
To date, $13.5 million has been committed toward the $21 million project. The Alumni association is raising funds for the auditorium seating. Donors have the opportunity to place their name on a seat or row they have purchased.
