SAGu alumnus creates Pentecostal line for Logos softwareWaxahachie, Texas – August 29, 2013 – Logos Bible Software has selected Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) alumnus Rich Tatum as Product Manager for a new line of product specifically designed for the Pentecostal/Charismatic faith group. Logos is one of three Bible software programs that SAGU recommends to students.

Tatum says, “Over the last five to 10 years, the Pentecostal/Charismatic faith group has represented 9-10 percent of the revenue attributed to denominational-oriented product lines. Now students will be able to choose package options with titles specifically oriented toward Pentecostal theology.”

He continues, “The Logos library has tended to have a distinct Reformed leaning. It is a new endeavor for Logos to bring in faith group experts and have them build up lines of products specific to those groups.” In addition to a Pentecostal/Charismatic line, Logos is also creating Reformed, Eastern Orthodox, Lutheran, Anglican, Catholic, and 7th Day Adventist lines. Logos intends on releasing the new lines by 2014.

Tatum began working for Logos in April 2013, where he serves as the marketing media and relations manager and as the content marketing specialist. His responsibilities include marketing, public relations, and developing the Pentecostal/Charismatic line.

Tatum says, “The Logos library contains 36,410 titles. When you purchase a Logos package, you receive a base set of titles and can then add to your library by purchasing additional titles over time. The goal is to offer several Pentecostal/Charismatic base package options and a variety of other titles available for purchase.”

Tatum enrolled at SAGU in Fall 1986. In Spring 1991 he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in cross-cultural ministry and evangelism.

Tatum believes that his time at SAGU prepared him to work with people from other Christian faiths. He says, “While at SAGU I began to realize that the Church is much bigger than the AG and that the work of God in the world requires people from all Christian faiths to partner together.”

He also says that SAGU taught him about God’s work in the lives of people. “SAGU taught me that God has a very real presence in our lives,” he says. “We should expect God to answer our prayers because he is keenly interested in who we are and in our affairs. When I pray, I know that I am connecting and relating to the Almighty Creator of the universe and that the Holy Spirit is helping me do that.”

Following graduation from SAGU, Tatum worked at the AG National Headquarters in Springfield, Missouri. He has also worked for Christianity Today International and the Zondervan.

Tatum married his wife Jennifer in May 1997. They have three children: two girls, 4 and 9, and a boy, 12.
