Student Part of Emmy-Nominated Production

Drama student Melissa Todd recently toured with a theater company of “The Hiding Place.”  A recording of the production was nominated through the Chicago Emmy nominations for Best Original Score and Best Director.

Melissa traveled with the “Jeremiah People” company for four months.  The production included a cast of six, a sound/light technician and a bus driver.  Most cast members played multiple parts.  Melissa played the roles of Lieutenant Rahms, a German officer, and Jan, a teenage family friend of the Ten Booms.

According to Melissa, “The experience was incredible.  I was taught by some of the finest directors and was pushed harder than I ever knew possible.  Theatre is definitely an art.  It takes hours, days, weeks, months to prepare for a show.  I was stretched spiritually, physically, and in my acting career.”
