Waxahachie, Texas — March 12, 2013 — Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) senior Brittany "Brimo" Morales was chosen as a finalist in the 2013 Texas Utilities (TXU) Student Film Contest. High school and college students from Texas sent in film concepts about promoting good energy.
In its fourth annual Light Up the Red Carpet Student Film Contest, TXU challenged students to answer: what does energy mean to you? Morales said, "I always like to think outside the box. Energy not only powers lights and TVs, energy is within us. Without it, we can not function."
Morales was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. She shared, "My dad was a photographer, so I was playing with cameras in elementary school." She graduated from Sandra Day O'Connor High School in 2008 and won second and third place in video at the Assemblies of God National Fine Arts.
Once she graduates she intends to return to San Antonio and work for a production company or become a youth pastor.
Morales is now one of the Top 10 in the contest. She has begun filming her short film concept "Dance to Life" with Jordan Jones, a professional freelance producer. The film focuses around dancing and how wasting electricity affects the world.
Morales said, "At SAGU, I learned how to present myself professionally and the importance of showing Christ in whatever I do. My life reflects Him, and I follow his direction in my life."
