Two SAGU student films win first place awards
Waxahachie, Texas — January 29, 2013 — Two Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) student films will be honored with first place awards at the 2013 National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) Convention and Exposition in March. "Under the Sun" will receive the first place award for longer film category, and "To Every Nation: The Mission Ten" will receive the first place award for television/video documentary.
SAGU professor Rob Price says, "For SAGU Cinema to sweep both the long film and documentary categories is truly a huge accomplishment and a credit to the outstanding work put forth by our digital media arts students.”
He continues, “These awards give SAGU tremendous exposure to the entire NRB family of ministries. I can only imagine how much this will assist our students in networking for potential employment and other opportunities."
The NRB Convention will take place Mar. 2-5 at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville, Tenn. The awards will be presented at the iNRB Media Awards Ceremony & Showcase on Sunday, Mar. 3. The SAGU Communication Arts Department will receive a trophy, certificate, and $150 per first place category ($300 total).
