After Hours Improv Holds SAGU Comics Night

Owensby Comedy TourOn Friday, January 22, After Hours Improv in Waxahachie, Texas, held a ‘SAGU Comics Night’ with professor Garland Owensby, alumnus Caleb Carnes, and students Matt Wazbinski and Taylor Johnson.

Founded in February 2004, After Hours Improv Productions has a simple yet deliberate passion for clean, professionally presented entertainment.  After Hours Improv is an alcohol free clean-comedy club located in the old Rogers Hotel on the square in downtown Waxahachie.

SAGU student Stephen Davis works sound for the After Hours team and convinced owner “Smiley” Alfaro to have his professor do stand-up at the club.  As a result, Garland Owensby, Youth Ministry Professor, recently performed a 20-minute set at After Hours.  Smiley and Owensby then decided to have a SAGU Stand-up night that would provide an opportunity for stand-up comedy that is clean and family-friendly featuring students with the gift to make people laugh.
