SAGU Department of Bible and Theology announce award recipientsWaxahachie, Texas — April 26, 2013 — Southwestern Assemblies of God University's (SAGU) Department of Bible and Theology held its annual banquet on Thursday, April 25, 2013, and announced the award recipients for the academic year.

Courtney Mask and Joseph Kendrick received the award for Excellence in Greek Studies. Mask is a theological studies major from Lufkin, Texas. Kendrick is a Bible and theology major from Shreveport, Louisiana.

This award is given each year to the department’s outstanding student in New Testament Greek. This is the first year SAGU awarded two students with this honor.

Jordon Salvato received the award for Excellence in Hebrew Studies. Salvato is a theological studies major from Springfield, Missouri. This award is given each year to the department’s outstanding student in Biblical Hebrew.

Chris Buford received the John W. Wyckoff Award for Theological Studies. Buford is a theological studies major from Benton, Louisiana. This award is given each year to the department’s outstanding student in the Theological Studies. The honor is conferred in the name of Dr. John W. Wyckoff who has served SAGU for over 30 years and continues to serve as the Graduate Chair for Theological Studies in the Harrison School of Graduate Studies.
