Waxahachie, Texas - April 17, 2012 - Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Department of Bible and Theology announced its 2012 award recipients.

SAGU Bible and Theology faculty select the recipient for each award. Recipients must exhibit the values of SAGU and Christ-like character in addition to meeting the qualifications specific to each award.

Dorothy Megan Timmerman (Midlothian, TX) received the Award for Excellence in Greek Studies. The award is given to the top-performing student in New Testament Greek.

Miguel Guerreiro (Springfield, MO) received the Award for Excellence in Hebrew Studies. The award is given to the top-performing student in Biblical Hebrew.

Preston Barnett (Humble, TX) received the John W. Wyckoff Award for Theological Studies. The award is given in honor of Dr. John W. Wyckoff, who has served SAGU for over thirty years and continues to serve as the Graduate Chair for Theological Studies in the Harrison School of Graduate Studies.

Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) is a private, Christian university located 30 minutes south of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex in Waxahachie, Texas.
