Southwestern Assemblies of God University is a Private, Christian University and Bible College in Waxahachie, Texas. Our university was established as a Bible college in 1927, moved to Waxahachie, TX, in 1943, and now serves more than 2,000 associate, bachelor's and master's degree-seeking students in Bible or liberal arts degrees. SAGU has two Christian colleges, The College of Arts and Professions and the College of Bible and Church Ministries. Degrees are offered on campus in Waxahachie, Texas, or online through SAGU's School of Distance Education.
Although we are no longer solely a Bible college, we proudly acknowledge our heritage as one of the nation's leading Bible colleges. Half of the students enrolled at SAGU are pursuing a degree related to Bible or Church Ministries. SAGU also produces a large number of Assemblies of God pastors and missionaries.
SAGU has offered accredited online degrees and Christian Distance Education for nearly 30 years. Students learn from an accredited University with professors who are experts in their fields. Experiential Learning Credit is also available to help adult students earn up to 30 credit hours toward their online degrees.
