The Brass Keys Duo will perform a music recital at SAGU on Tuesday, March 30 at 7:00 p.m. The duo consists of SAGU faculty members Tyrone Block (trombone) and Amanda Lee (piano). Held in Burke Hall of the SAGU Foster Music Center, the event is free and open to the public.
"The recital will take the audiences on a musical journey that spans from the Romantic era to modern day,” Dr. Lee commented. “The pieces to be performed present an amalgamation of traditional western art forms and jazz idioms. The audience will experience the richness of jazz traditions in a classical performance setting."
The duo will perform works by Romantic and Contemporary composers such as Eugene Bozza, Carl Maria von Weber, Herman Bellstedt and Christopher Brubeck. The recital will also feature special guest Michelle Flowers on tenor trombone.
Block and Lee have been performing together for three years.
