History Department Hosts "Behind Enemy Lines" SeminarWaxahachie, TX – February 25, 2011 – Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) History Department will host “Behind the Lines: Combat and Culture 1914-1945” seminar next week March 1-3, 2011. The seminar is open to the public and will take place in the SAGU Mundt room located in the Sheaffer Full Life Center.

The itinerary is as follows:

  • Tuesday March 1, 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m.
    • Session 1: Professor Loyd Uglow: Introduction
    • Session 2: Professor D’Juana Montgomery: “The Poetry of WWII: The Trench Poets”
  • Wednesday March 2, 10:15 a.m.-11:15 a.m.
    • Session 3: Professor Bruce Rosdahl: “Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy” Professor Jeff Magruder: “Picking Up the Pieces: Helmut Thielicke and the Mission to Rebuild Germany”
    • Session 4: Darren Sapp: “Covert Warriors: Spies and Commandos in World War II”
  • Thursday March 3, 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m.
    • Session 5: Tyrone Block and SAGU Jazz Ensemble: “Songs That Got Us Through WWII”
