Dr. Skip Redd Presents at Regional Conference
Dr. Skip Redd, SAGU Communication Arts professor, recently presented at the Popular Culture Association of the South Conference in Savannah, Georgia. The conference included various topics and speakers from throughout the region. Redd’s presented on the topic “Lived Experiences, Televangelism, and American Media: Lessons Learned from Individuals Reflections and Media Accounts About the PTL Scandal.”
Organized in 1971, the ACAS is an organization for the interdisciplinary study of total culture. It offers scholars who have something worthwhile to say on matters involving mass society an opportunity to come together. The organization examines all aspects of American culture and includes scholars from a a myriad of disciplines.
Within the national and the PCAS regional membership are persons interested in literature, film, television, radio history, ethnic studies, American studies, computer sciences, and some of the natural sciences. They include a wide range of individuals: some young and bright, some older and accomplished—many of national reputation, as well as field professionals, such as architects, artists, and journalists.
