Type: Co-ed James K. and Joyce Bridges Residence Hall, is the newest of two new residence halls at SAGU. It is a co-ed facility, housing men (east wing) and women (west wing). A four-story building, rooms provide double occupancy and form a suite with an adjoining dorm room. The two rooms are linked by a bathroom. Rooms are furnished with bunks, chest of drawers, desks and wardrobe closets. All rooms have a microfridge, phone lines and computer lines. Each individual hall within this dorm contains a lobby, study room and laundry facilities. A prayer room is located on each floor. Bridges Dorm Pastor: Jennifer MosqueraEmail: jmosquera@sagu.edu Jennifer Mosquera and her husband, Vinnie, are both ordained ministers with the Assemblies of God. She has a bachelor of Arts from SAGU in Youth Ministries and Christian Education and a Master of Arts in Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist theological Seminary. As a student at SAGU, she enjoyed serving as an RA in Collins Hall. She recently served at Grace Community Assembly of God Church in Flower Mound, TX as the College and Young Adult Pastor for almost six years. Jennifer also currently serves with Vinnie as the Chi Alpha Campus Pastors at Southern Methodist University in Dallas and is an adjunct faculty member at SAGU. Jennifer?s goal in ministry is to help students become grounded in their relationship with Christ so that they can discover and develop their unique passions and giftings He has given them for a lifetime of service in His Kingdom! Jennifer also enjoys collecting books, crocheting, and traveling the world. Type: Co-ed Guynes Hall is a co-ed facility on the Southwestern campus, housing men (east wing) and women (west wing). The dorm was completed during the fall semester of 1995. A three-story building, most rooms provide double occupancy and form a suite with an adjoining dorm room. The two rooms are linked by a bathroom. Vanities with a sink are located in each room, along with a bunk, a chest of drawers, and a desk for each resident. Laundry facilities are available for residential use. Each room has a Microfridge, phone line and computer lines. Guynes also has several rooms specifically for students who are physically challenged. Guynes Dorm Pastor: Peggy ByrneEmail: pbyrne@sagu.edu Peggy Byrne moved from northern Virginia to be a full-time student in 1998. She served as a Resident Assistant for 3 years, and graduated with a B.S. in Professional Development in 2001. She was hired as a Dorm Pastor in 2001 and has served in a few different dorms, but has been in Guynes Hall for the last two years. Peggy realizes the importance of 'every day' in the life of a Christian young person, and she desires to lead the students in her influence to a deeper appreciation for God in every day life. "Where you look is where you land." Peggy's loves include music, mosaic art, and most recently, a love for gardening flowers. Type: Women's Kendrick Hall is an apartment complex that has been renovated and converted into a dormitory for women. The renovations were completed by the 1998 fall semester, with rooms large enough to house four girls at a time. Every room is furnished with a desk, chest of drawers, and a bunk for each resident, as well as private bathroom facilities.Further, Kendrick Hall has had a new wing added to it in 2000, and now has capacity for 110 women. The new wing houses up to 26 students, holds the dorm pastor's apartment, the dorm lobby, and prayer room. Laundry facilities have also been recently renovated and are accessible from both wings. All rooms have a Microfridge, phone lines and computer lines. Kendrick has rooms that will accommodate students who are physically challenged. Kendrick Dorm Pastor: Bethanie SkillerEmail: bskipper@sagu.edu Bethanie Skipper is a Texas born missionary, minister, and educator. She is proud to have been a pastor's kid in Dallas, Texas and a resident Assemblies of God Missionary kid in Costa Rica, Argentina, and Mexico. Bethanie is an alumni of SAGU and served as a Resident Assistant in the dorm named after her Great Great Uncle M. E. Collins. As a graduate from the class of 2002, Bethanie received an AA in Foreign Language and a BA in Elementary Education. Following graduation she taught for one year with the Dallas Independent School District as a bilingual first grade teacher. For the past five years Bethanie has served as the Assemblies of God World Missions Missionary Kid program coordinator. In that ministry position she has become a highly respected third culture kid representative and has been able to travel the Globe in meeting the educational, emotional, and spiritual needs of over 1400 Assemblies of God missionary children. Regents Apartments are located on campus to house students with families taking 12 hours of on campus courses or 6 hours of distance ed. courses. Ten units with three apartments upstairs and downstairs create a cozy, safe area for socializing with others and relaxation. With 670 sq. ft., a deposit of $350 and rent of $550 per month, the following are included:

Rooms are designed for three residents due to the large size of the rooms. Each room has bunks, chest of drawers, and a desk for each resident. Students may personalize their rooms and bring carpet if they wish. Bathrooms are located on each floor. Laundry facilities are also provided. Each room has a Microfridge, phone lines, and computer lines. Savell Dorm Pastor: Calvin FunchessEmail: cfunchess@sagu.edu Calvin is a new arrival at Southwestern. Previously, he served as the worship leader for Del Aire Assembly of God: a diverse group of believers from 39 different nations located in Hawthorne California. It was there that he finished his degree in Political Science with an emphasis in Public Administration from California State University of Los Angeles. He also earned his ministerial credentials with the Assemblies of God. Last but certainly not least, he meet his beautiful wife NiCole who completed two years of Master?s Commission at their church. They have been married for nearly four years. From there God moved them to Farmington, New Mexico to serve as full-time youth pastors. After serving the people of the Four Corners for two and a half years, Calvin felt a call to the campus of Southwestern and hopes to pursue an advanced degree that will enable him to further develop his passion for teaching and discipling young believers. Calvin enjoys anything artistic, anything political, and anything that causes him to think and feel deeply. Teeter Dorm Pastor: Jason MorrisEmail: jmorris@sagu.edu Jason Morris came to Southwestern in the Spring of 2003 to work on a degree in church ministries. Prior to coming to Southwestern, Jason served as a volunteer youth pastor in his home town of Brady Texas. Jason Graduated from Southwestern with a bachelors degree in Church Ministries, an associates degree in Business and is currently working on a Masters degree in Bible and Theology. While at Southwestern Jason was involved in spring break missions trips, as well as serving as a residential assistant and head residential assistant in Davis Hall. Jason is married to a wonderful woman, Sarah Yellowhair Morris, and they have a beautiful baby girl, Cheyenne Raquel. Jason desires for Teeter Hall to be a place that is conducive for students to develop spiritually and academically. Jason's heart is to disciple college students into a relationship and life sold out to the Lord Jesus Christ. Jason enjoys being with family as well as outdoor activities including hunting, fishing and snow skiing. |
