Tuition Grants
Definition of Dependent Student:
Was the student born before January 1, 1983?
Will the student be working on a master’s or doctorate program?
Is the student married?
Does the student have children or other dependents (other than a spouse) who receive more than half of their support from the student?
Is the student an orphan or was (until age 18) the student a ward/dependent of the court?
Is the student a veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces?
An answer “Yes” to any of the above questions would cause the student to be considered independent and consequently ineligible for any of the Dependent Grants. Answering “No” to all questions would cause the student to be considered dependent and eligible for the Dependent Grants.
ACHIEVE Tuition Grant
CRITERIA: For Undergraduate students who have attended SAGU previously, but not completed a degree. You must not have attended for at least one academic year.
Complete Part A of the SAGU application. Turn in Part A and the Achieve Tuition Grant Application to the School of Distance Education. Ask your minister to complete and turn in Part B of the SAGU Application.

ACHIEVE provides you with a grant equal to the tuition cost of the Learning and Development course. For your first semester only, you receive a tuition grant equal to 2 credit hours.
If you have already completed the DE version of Learning and Development, you can still receive a tuition grant equal to the cost of 2 credit hours.
If you enroll in 8 credit hours or more, ACHIEVE provides an extra hour of tuition grant, equaling the cost of 3 credit hours.
The tuition grant is only available during your first semester back at SAGU and can only be approved after a student has been accepted to the University.
