Biography

 

Dr. David W. Price is Adjunct Professor of History in the History graduate program at Southwestern.

In 2012 Dr. Price became the lead pastor of the Great Outdoors Community Church in Titusville, Florida.  Prior to that he served for twenty-one years as the senior pastor of First Assembly of God church in Wheaton, Illinois.

Dr. Price attended North Central Bible College in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he earned a Bachelors Degree in Pastoral Studies (1982).  Subsequently, he earned a Masters Degree in Theology from Wheaton College Graduate School Wheaton, Illinois, (1993), and a Doctor of Philosophy in History from London Metropolitan University, Great Britain, (2001).

His doctoral thesis, “Cotton Mather’s Cosmology and the 1692 Salem Witch Trials,” was the first to thoroughly explicate Cotton Mather’s theology in the context of the Salem Trials.

Dr. Price was licensed with the Assemblies of God in 1982 and ordained in 1984.

He is passionate about world missions.  He has taught at Elim Theological Seminary in Romania and served on the seminary’s advisory board.  He has also ministered extensively within several Indian communities in South Africa.  He has preached in local churches, and conducted citywide meetings and pastoral training seminars.
