With over 18 years of experience in the field of education, Jan Bridges holds a Master’s degree in Education with a specialization in Curriculum. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and is certified in K-12 Music Education as well as in the Kodaly method of music instruction. She has held positions as assistant principal, music teacher, art and reading teacher using the multisensory teaching approach for dyslexic students. She has also taught various elementary grade levels.
Mrs. Bridges has taught at SAGU in the music department in the areas of class piano, private voice, piano and flute. More recently, she has taught in the teacher education department as well as overseeing student teachers as a University Supervisor. Mrs. Bridges has conducted in-service training for classroom management and parent communication. Serving in ministry with her husband, she has directed music ministry and women’s ministries, and has enjoyed sharing dorm devotionals with students on campus. She has also been involved with Southwestern Women’s Auxiliary as well as supporting many other campus activities.
