Lions win today, 1-0, on Denton HR in seventh

Pisors, Burt combine for three-hitter; Game 2 underway

OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma  --  The Southwestern Assemblies of God University baseball team won the first game of today's doubleheader at Mid-America Christian University, 1-0, to even the three-game series at a game apiece.

The second game of the twinbill is underway. MACU won Thursday's nine-inning solo contest, 2-0.

Sophomore Jarrod Pisors and freshman Tucker Burt combined for a three-hit shutout of the Evangels.

Senior Jared Denton won the game on a home run in the top of the seventh inning for SAGU.

The victory was the 11th for the young team, just three shy of last year's total. Counting today's second game, SAGU still has 22 games remaining this spring.

A complete report on the series will be posted tonight, along with statistics and quotes.

SAGU returns home next weekend when they host Southwestern Christian University (Ok) for three games.

They will play twice (two seven inning games) on Friday, March 21, at the Waxahachie Sports Complex, starting at 4:00pm. The following day they are slated to play a nine-inning contest at the WSC at 1:00pm.
