Rob Price

Executive Producer/Co-Editor

Rob Price began teaching at SAGU in 2006. Prior to joining Southwestern's faculty, Rob served seven years as the media outreach pastor at Lakeview Church in Indianapolis. He developed a communications department featuring video and print elements to promote the Gospel and the ministries of the church. He also embraced other ministry roles while at Lakeview including teaching, preaching, counseling and other pastoral responsibilities.

In addition to working at the local church level, Rob brings students several years of experience as a producer/reporter for the Christian Broadcasting Network ( CBN), an international television ministry based out of Virginia Beach. His duties at CBN included traveling around the world in producing feature testimonies, ministry promotions and fund-raising stories for the 700 Club and Operation Blessing.

He earned his master's degree in 1997 at Regent University in TV/Cinema and his bachelor's degree in 1991 at Evangel University in Broadcasting/Journalism. Rob's wife, Sharon, is also an instructor at SAGU in the business department. They have four children ages 7 to 15.

 

Tim Roberts

Tim Roberts is the Writer and Producer of "Breaking News". He did most of his growing up as a Missionary Kid in the country of Latvia, where the rest of his family still resides. He loves writing and reading, and is either doing one or the other in his free time. His all time favorite movie is a difficult call since there are so many, but if he had to make the choice he'd choose "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers". His ultimate goal in life is to make films like he's doing right now, both with redemptive, important messages, and some just for fun. He'd like to thank his lifelong heroes, his Dad, Winston Churchill, C.S. Lewis, and Joseph McCarthy.

 

Axa Dara Davila

Axa Dara is a Freshman Media ministries major at SAGU. Her hobbies are hanging out with friends once in a while, she likes a lot of different movies but she loves really romantic movies. Her biggest goal is being a missionary and build and orphanage, her passion is working with children and reached them for God. She likes helping people and she is organized, her position for this summer film are several assistant to the producer, assistant to craft services, and assistant to make-up and hair. She expects to get a great experience out of this summer film and get really good friendships.

 

David Timmes

David plans on working with churches to produce wicked awesome videos.  David enjoys playing baseball. He a pitcher for the SAGU Lions.  David enjoys watching tv, playing sports, and chocolate pie.  David’s life goals are meeting the crying Indian from the old litter commercials in the early 90s and getting hit by chuck norris.  David's current project, Breaking News, is pretty much the best movie ever.  So you should go out and buy it when we actually make it.  If you are interested in hiring David for Director, camera man, or if you just need a clown for your child's birthday party, feel free to contact him.

 

Michael Joe Spangler, Jr.

Michael Spangler was raised in Collage Station Texas. Four years ago he moved to Waxahachie, Texas where he now attends Southwestern Assemblies of God University. He is graduating next May with a degree in Media Ministries, with hopes to some day be working along side missionaries and pastors around the world, helping them come up with new and effective ways of reaching the people they minister to through media.

 

Janeya Nelson

After graduation she plans to work in the Dallas area. Her dream is to become a director and/or producer. She has a passion to change the face of "Christian Movies" to accurately reflect the creativity of the master creator. Her goal is to serve God by living her dream through the art of film making.

Ariel Flatt

Her ambition is to one day own her own indie-rock radio station in the DFW area. She would like to use the radio station as a ministry opportunity to reach out to the local community. She hopes that this experience with the up and coming film 'Breaking News' will open up many new doors of opportunity. She looks forward to the prospects this film is making and to the growth of the individuals in the film crew.

 

DeAnza Ward

In her free time, one of her favorite things to do is mentor high school girls. One of her favorite films is Father of the Bride. When she graduates, DeAnza plans to be involved with Youth Evangelism.

 

Tiffaney Yazzie

She started her interest in media when she did Video Journalism at her high school. She is on her second semester at SAGU. This is the first time she has worked with making a movie and is pretty excited about it. She wants to someday figure out her purpose in life and start media departments in small churches. She spends her days either procrastinating or listening to Jazz. She is also a fan of independent films and live concerts. Her favorite thing to do, surprisingly, is to quilt. She also loves to edit and be behind the scenes, which works well for her because as a second A.D. she does that a lot. Her favorite film is Clueless. She plans to start media departments in churches and teach it someday.

 

Brian Woodward

Brian came to SAGU to get a degree in Media so he could work in sports media. Yet since he has been here he has realized he wants to use media as an outreach to people. He loves sports, his family, his girlfriend and Dr. Pepper. He hopes to use what he has learned to reach the Hispanic Community in America.

 

Samson Varughese

His passion involves not only films, but also music and the arts. He is working in pre-production for "Breaking News." As a storyboard artist, he sketches out the vision of the director for each shot in the movie.

 

Cara Miles

She is heavily involved in Southwestern's theatre program, in which she has played Anne Frank in The Diary of Anne Frank and Abigail Williams in The Crucible. For 7 years she has been seen on the stages in and around the Dallas area. Her favorite role has been Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz. While she loves being on stage, she is very passionate about directing. She plans to open her own theatre company in the future. In 2006, Cara won best actress in the EDOC film festival in Dallas, TX.

 

Jenna Williams

Major: Cross-cultural Missions/A.A. in English

She is from Fruita, Colorado, and naturally loves being outdoors in the mountains.  Some of her interests include acting, reading a good novel, and kicking back with her friends to watch their favorite movies.  Her favorite movies include the Lord of the Rings trilogy, but she also enjoys a good comedy.  Within the next year or two she hopes to go on to graduate school and to earn a degree either in theology or theater ministry.  Jenna also plans to continue traveling around the world.  She spent six weeks this past summer in Cambodia teaching English and is looking forward to her upcoming trip to Scotland.

 

Kriss Kelley

SAGU has instilled him a new-found interest in media arts. Through classes, he has discovered video editing. He may not be proficient enough to be in the spotlight, but he is avid about using his skills in this area. He is very excited about this film and being part something brand new. He can’t wait to see how it turns out.

She has always been interested in Media and movies and although her career isn’t going to be in this direction, she is overjoyed to be a part of this film. This has been an enlightening experience and she highly anticipates the results.

 

Jeremiah Edmonds

He enjoys music, movies, video games, and late night walks on the beach with his future wife -- Breaking News Wardrobe Supervisor Nicole Ruble. One might say, "Walks on the beach?!? He's in the middle of Texas." to which he would might reply, "Well, why bother to read this bio? If you have so much time on your hands that you can sit down, think, and openly criticize what I typed in my own bio, wouldn't that time be better spent creating something cool and new?" which is why he is camera operator for Breaking News and writer/director for the highly anticipated upcoming sequel/adaptation of Breaking News, "Breaking News 2 Da Streets: the Musical...ON ICE" featuring David Timmes as Meg Ryan and Timothy Roberts as Michael Spangler. "BN2DS:tM...ON ICE" is based on a true story inspired by the actual events of Matt Retek's life while working on the set of Breaking News, written from Jeremiah's unique perspective. Jeremiah would to thank Rob Price for his weekly story-time motivational readings. He would also like to thank the producers of 24 for finally canceling it. Although it was Rob Price's favorite show, it was just getting ridiculous there at the end.

Matt enjoys watching pro wrestling in his spare time.  He is excited about being a part of this film project.  After graduating from college he plans on continuing his work with the youth of America, and possibly working on future film projects.

Andrew Farina is a 20 year old sophomore media ministries major at Southwestern Assemblies of God University.  Andrew is from Abilene, TX and likes to watch movies and hang out with friends.  Some of Andrews favorite movies are the Lord of the Rings trilogy and Top Gun.

Tim is also a member of the Lion’s baseball team where he is on the pitching staff.  His hobbies include reading, listening to music, writing, watching his Spurs go after another title, and Chicago Cubs baseball.  Tim’s dreams involve a career as a broadcaster for ESPN, a sportswriter for USA Today, and a public relations consultant for a rock band.  He would like to thank the all powerful Lord for being his savior, his dad and mom for molding his persona, and last but not least all of his coaches growing up, who helped create his strong, independent character.  Kolczak would like to shout out to his friends back in San Antonio who helped nurture his individuality and imaginative talent, making him the spontaneous, care-free dude he is today

Jeremy's favorite hobbies are drumming, making short films, and photography. When he graduates from SAGU he plans to get his masters degree in Psychology and then transfer to Regents University to get his Masters in Film. When Jeremy finishes all of his schooling he hopes to get a job working as a Psychologist, and produce his own films. Jeremy's all time favorite director is Wes Anderson and Jeremy's all time favorite movies are Wes Anderson Films.

He enjoys challenges and learning new things. He enjoys ultimate Frisbee, snowboarding, surfing, hiking and camping. One day he wants to become a media pastor serving God through film and media. Jared Hutyra

Youth Ministry has been Jared's main interest for the past 10 years or so. He is currently an intern at Cleburne Family Fellowship's Youth Group, and he plans to be a Youth Pastor when he graduates. He also has a passion for music and media, hoping to incorporate both into his ministry. In his spare time Jared plays Halo, watches the Mavs and the Cowboys, and plays paintball. He can't go to the mall without buying a hat. He is hopelessly addicted to the liquid from Heaven...Dr. Pepper. His favorite films are, "Hook" starring Robin Williams, "Equilibrium" starring Christian Bale, and "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy.

Danielle Dominique Chambers

Major: Broadcasting
Hometown: Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Danielle Chambers is a Broadcasting major from Rancho Cucamonga, California. She is involved with drama at SAGU and loves it. Costume designer is her job in this big project. She hopes that she will bring the characters alive with their outfits and costumes. Making sure that every costume is accounted for, she has to make sure that all of the costumes are in the right place or else there will be a reckoning upon her by Mr. Price. Danielle is very excited to be a part of this whole project and she wants to do the very best she can to help out the team. Danielle is ready for this to begin and she can't wait to see how this will all turn out.

She hopes to get her doctorate and become a child's psychologist/ counselor. She lived in Mississippi for the last six years before attending SAGU and she was born in Missouri.

Kelly Ray

Kelly is looking forward to graduation in May 2008. She has enjoyed playing volleyball for the SAGU lions and hopes to find her niche in Business. Her job is to market this independent film as well as she can and get the word out about how great this film is. She is very excited about how many opportunities this film will open up for SAGU and the students working together on this project.

 

Giselle Eggenberger

In early years, she started off playing the violin and classical guitar.  She then attended a School of Fine Arts for 2 years and expanded her music experience. After graduating high school, she was accepted to SAGU.  This May she will be graduating with a major in Business Marketing. Some of her previous marketing experience has been interning at MaxiMedia Studio in Dallas, Texas. Her music experience includes playing a variety of musical instruments and still continues expanding her musical scope today.

She is interested in movies, music, languages, foreign countries, cultures, and pretty much anything that has to do with internationalism. Her hobbies are sleeping and hanging out with friends. She is very spontaneous. She likes fire and fireworks and anything that explodes. Paintballing his one of her favorites. She likes to take pictures of other people as well. Her parents are missionaries. She was born in San Salvador and spent most of her life in Cordoba, Argentina. She is fluent in Spanish and she doesn’t eat spicy foods in Argentina. It is not Mexico.
