Team Comparison: SAGU vs. Southwestern Christian
WAXAHACHIE, Texas -- On the heels of a sweep of University of Dallas on Tuesday, the softball team from Southwestern Assemblies of God University returns to the field on their campus facility in a Thursday doubleheader.
Officials from SAGU and SWCU have agreed to change the start time of the first game from 2:00pm to 11:00am. A 20% chance of rain is in the forecast. Temperatures will range in the low 60’s with south-southeasterly winds of 11 mph expected.
The Lady Lions (8-38 / 1-29 in SAC) will play two league games against Southwestern Christian University (12-29 / 3-21 in SAC) in a battle of teams currently occupying eighth and ninth in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
On March 10 the teams met in Bethany, Oklahoma with the host Eagles winning 3-2 in eight innings and 11-3 in six. SWCU has gone 3-20 since then. They are toting a string of 16 straight losses.
SAGU and SWCU are in a battle for the eighth and final spot in the Sooner Athletic Conference tournament (May 1-3). Taking both games would help the Lady Lions remain in contention.
