nineteen thirty-one...Rev. Guy Shields founded
Shield of Faith School in Amarillo, Texas...later
Southern Bible College was organized in
Houston, Texas in connection with the Richey
Tabernacle...

moved to Ft. Worth, Texas...Five years later
the Southern Bible College and the Shield
of Faith were taken over by Texas District
Council of the Assemblies of God...the new
school was renamed "South Central Bible
Institute"...
Fall,
nineteen forty-one...Southwestern Bible
School from Enid is consolidated with South
Central Bible Institute in Ft. Worth...from
this final merger the three schools become
"Southwestern Bible Institute"
Onward
march...nineteen forty-three...the present
location in Waxahachie, Texas was purchased
by the Texas District Council.
