Full Length P.C. Nelson Biography

Special Price: $19.95 + SH

Viola Holder, SAGU Archivist, and renowned author Bob Burke have co-authored the first full-length biography of SAGU founder P.C. Nelson. The two have been researching Nelson’s life for over a year and the book is now available. All proceeds from the book will benefit SAGU as it continues Nelson’s legacy to train people to preach the whole gospel to the whole world.

With 76 works, Burke has written more historical non-fiction books than anyone else in history. He also practices law full time. Growing up in the Assemblies of God, Burke has always been aware of P.C. Nelson’s influence on the fellowship. However, while writing “Like a Prairie Fire,” a history of the Assemblies of God in Oklahoma, Burke talked to many people who were involved with SAGU’s beginning in Enid, Oklahoma. It was during this time that the plan to write a full-length biography of P.C. Nelson was birthed.

“There is no doubt that [P.C. Nelson], Stanley Horton, and Don Stamps have been our leading theologians since the fellowship was founded,” Burke commented. “I hope that the biography of P.C. Nelson will honor this great preacher who did so much for the fellowship and Pentecost.”

Burke describes the book as an exciting story of a Baptist preacher who was run over by a street car and miraculously healed. That healing experience drove Nelson to Pentecost and resulted in his major role in the Assemblies of God.

The title, “The Whole Gospel for the Whole World,” correctly identifies Brother Nelson’s strong desire that students go out from SAGU to take the message of the Gospel to the ends of the earth. According to Burke, “[Nelson’s] legacy will never dim.”
